Knights announce date for first game in new uptown ballpark

There was a knight in armor, trumpeters in full regalia, and more Renaissance characters out to support the continuing construction of BB&T Ballpark, the Charlotte Knights’ future home.

The Class AAA team, which plays its home games at Knights Stadium in Fort Mill, announced its first home game in BB&T Ballpark will be April 11, 2014 against the Norfolk Tide. It will be the team’s first home game in Charlotte since the late ’80s.

The Knights also announced that club seats are sold out, and season-ticket packages are on sale. Field box season tickets start at $756 per season - $10.50 per game.

Executive vice president Dan Rajkowski also said that the team hoped to attract the ACC tournament soon.
