“How do you do what you do?  How can you stand up there and re-live the worst moment of your life, over and over?”

A student enrolled in a driver’s education class asked me this question not long ago…

It’s simple…by grace alone.  I’m not doing anything by my own strength or ability…this mission isn’t mine.  I’m merely the messenger, although the experience, the devastating loss, most certainly belongs to me. To my family.

I’ve only to look at the magnitude and reach of this mission to know I am not the guiding force behind it.  It continues to grow in ways I never imagined.  In fact, I never expected anything like this at all.

I’m an ordinary mom, doing all I can to make sure another mother doesn’t join me on this awful voyage.

It’s not easy to talk about what happened, why it occurred and our lives in the days, months and years since that awful day… Many times I struggle to find the resolve to face another telling of our tale; my courage flees like a thief in the night. Nevertheless, I march on; I know the One who set this path before me will carry me through to the end.  I have no lingering doubts as to whether or not this is what I am supposed to do.  He has provided exactly what I’ve needed every step of the way…

While I am not particularly gifted as a speaker or writer, I have been blessed with an unwavering faith and sense of purpose.  It has allowed me to share our journey through this dark valley straight from my heart, always hoping and praying it will be enough to make a difference…

Tammy will update her blog twice weekly…
