Two injured in Saturday night fire in Charlotte

Two people suffered non-life threatening injuries Saturday during a structure fire in west Charlotte.

Firefighters responded to the blaze, located in the 4000 block of Whitehurst Road, about 7:40 p.m. on Saturday.

Heavy fire and smoke were showing at the time firefighters arrived at the residential fire, Fire Capt. Mark Basnight said.

Medic treated two patients and took them to Novant Health.
