Bank robbery leads to two-county, high speed chase

A bank robbery suspect led Rockingham Police on a high-speed chase into Anson County Friday afternoon, which ended with the suspect being taken to the hospital.

Officials said stop-sticks were deployed on West Wall Street near Lilesville. After driving over them, the suspect drove approximately three more miles before hitting another vehicle head-on.

Both the suspect and the victim were taken to an area hospital with what authorities called non-life threatening injuries.

This is a developing story. Check back for more details.
