• Communicate key information in a variety of ways and often. Use email and Facebook, and go to school events. The beginning of the year means backpacks full of fliers with important information. Send notices throughout the year with updates on progress.
• Create incentive programs that inspire others to participate. Understand the audience and be creative with incentives. Pizza days or ice-cream parties are great for kids. Offer two weeks of covered lunch duty for the teacher.
• Teachers are very busy, and another fundraiser is just another thing on their To Do list. Make it easy to collect. Consider giving teachers designated bags or boxes.
• Keep students inspired with monthly or quarterly contests, and share results on a bulletin board or in a newsletter.
