Arrest made in fatal north Charlotte shooting

A 36-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in Wednesday’s fatal shooting in a neighborhood off Dalton Road in north Charlotte, police say.

Colin Demon Latta was taken into custody Thursday morning in York County, S.C., according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

CMPD detectives were joined by York County sheriff’s deputies in finding Latta and arresting him.

Latta is accused of killing Charles Anthony Jefferson, who was shot about 4 p.m. in the 400 block of Sylvania Avenue. Two other people were injured in the shootings, but both are expected to recover, according to police.

Detectives say the four men know one another and got into an argument, which led to the shootings.
