A Rowan County man has been accused by authorities of running a meth lab at his home near the town of Faith.
The sheriff’s office says Joshua Eran Tarlton, 28, was arrested Wednesday after deputies allegedly found the drug operation at his residence. Authorities say Tarlton has previous convictions for larceny, assault on a female and two drug charges.
Sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Granite Quarry-Faith police department were called to Tarlton’s residence in the 1000 block of Church Street after getting reports that unattended children were playing in the yard and in a nearby road.
Authorities say they encountered Tarlton coming from the basement, and they allege a search of the residence turned up a methamphetamine lab. The SBI is involved in the case, and Rowan County’s social services department is caring for the suspect’s children.
