An Austrian manufacturing firm on Tuesday announced plans to open an office in Charlotte, with designs on making the Queen City home base for its expansion into the United States.
Getzner Werkstoffe GambH, which makes elastics and other products, is leasing 1,000 square feet at 8720 Red Oak Boulevard in southwest Charlotte. The company will start with four employees, but expects to hire more in the next few years as Charlotte becomes its base to service the United States.
“North America is a promising market. Charlotte itself is commercially attractive with a good infrastructure and many potential clients close by,” said Andreas Denk, president of Getzner USA.
The company specializes in the field of vibration isolation in railway, industrial and construction applications, the Charlotte Chamber said in a press release. It has offices in Austria, Japan, China, Jordan and India.
