The winner: Remove the pull tab from a soda can and slide it over the hook of a hanger. Then you can hang a second hanger from the other hole in the tab. This gives you twice the hanger space using half the closet space.

Brighten old glassware
Recently I bought some browned goblets in a thrift shop. Someone told me that peanut butter had come in them in the 1930s. No amount of hot water and soap and even vinegar could bring them to life. So, I soaked them for a couple of days in a bucket filled with a triple dose of OxiClean. They rose from the bath looking like new.
