1 person shot and killed in south Charlotte

One person killed in a south Charlotte shooting Thursday afternoon.

The shooting happened just before 5 p.m. on Kings Ridge Road, near where South Boulevard meets Old Pineville Road.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police have not released details of the shooting or anything about a potential suspect. The victim has not been identified, pending family notification.

Paramedics were initially called out to a report of a gunshot wound, but later confirmed that someone had died.
