ABC has revealed the new cast of "Dancing with the Stars" and at least one of the contests has ties to the Carolinas.
Retired NFL wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson -- who played a season with the Carolina Panthers -- is one of 12 celebrity dancers announced during a segment Wednesday on "Good Morning America." Johnson, who will be paired with pro Sharna Burgess, is now an analyst on ESPN.
The dancing reality show is now in its 17th season. New episodes will begin airing on Sept. 16.
The other contestants announced Wednesday are:

• "King of Queens" star Leah Remini
• TV personality Jack Osbourne
• Reality star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi
• Singer Christina Milan
• "Glee" star Amber Riley
• Actress Elizabeth Berkley Lauren
• Comedian Bill Engvall
• Disney star Corbin Bleu
• Brant Daugherty of "Pretty Little Liars"
• Bill Nye, "The Science Guy"
Country singer and Albemarle native Kellie Pickler, along with pro dancing partner Derek Hough, is the reigning DWTS champion.
