I wonder what Brian would say to the up and coming juniors if he was here?  What message would he want to convey?

It’s been a long time since I played golf myself, but I remember enough to know the lessons learned on the links are easily applied to everyday life.  Indeed, I watched them take hold in our son…

He learned about honor and integrity…paying attention and keeping score…the importance of being a good sport, no matter what your final score.  He realized etiquette and manners matter; that his behavior, language and attire needed to be appropriate to his surroundings; and that he should always show respect to everyone, no matter what…

In my mind’s eye, I see Brian saying something like this:

Golf is the greatest game in the world.  No other sport compares to the frustration felt after a bad round or the exhilaration of a shot hit squarely on…

Practice and hard work are essential if you want a chance of success…

Sometimes you hit the greatest shot of your life only to find it has fallen far short of the hole; other times your aim is wide of the mark and yet somehow, you make it anyway…

We don’t always get what we deserve but sometimes we get more than we should…

Life isn’t always fair but you should be, every single time…

Ask for help if you need it; lend a hand if you can…

Everyone makes mistakes; own them.  Accept the consequences and learn…

Remember that circumstances and conditions are constantly changing…you must adjust and adapt your strategy to the situation at hand…

In real life you seldom get a ‘mulligan’, so make every swing count…  Take advantage of every opportunity…live life to the fullest…

Friendships forged on the fairways are priceless…treasure them…

Don’t forget to congratulate others; remember to give thanks along the way…

And above all, don’t forget to have fun…

Tammy will update her blog twice weekly…
