Four people, including two teens, have been charged in connection with vehicle break-ins, Albemarle police say.
Authorities say they were called shortly before midnight Tuesday and told that several people were going through vehicles in the Fleetwood Drive area. Police say the people were picked up by a passing car, but they encountered an Albemarle police car a short time later.
The vehicle drove off, starting a short pursuit. Police eventually were able to pull the vehicle over, and they say the people in the car admitted to the break-ins.
In all, four people were charged with two counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and two counts of larceny after breaking and entering. They were identified as Dontavius Pearnell Wall, 25; Taiesha Quintel Horne, 22; and Yasmine Tomesia Drye, 16. The fourth person was a juvenile.
Police say the investigation is continuing.
