Motorists using Interstate 77 in Charlotte can expect lane closures every night this week, while state crews do maintenance on street lighting.
The lane closures are planned from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. and involve the left travel lanes. The $143,000 project includes refurbishing lights on pole along I-77 from north of Arrowood Road to south of the John Belk Freeway, and on I-85 from south Sam Wilson Road to north of Little Rock Road.
The maintenance involves more than 270 lights. This week’s work will be on I-77. The schedule:
Monday night: I-77 northbound and southbound, between Arrowood Road (Exit 3) and Woodlawn Road (Exit 6).
Tuesday night: I-77 northbound and southbound, between Tyvola Road (Exit 5) and Remount Road (Exit 8).
Wednesday night: I-77 northbound and southbound, between Billy Graham Parkway/Woodlawn Road and the John Belk Freeway.
Thursday night: I-77 northbound and southbound, between Remount Road and the John Belk Freeway. Crews also will temporarily close the entrance ramp from West Boulevard to northbound I-77, and the entrance ramp from Wilkinson Boulevard to I-77 southbound.
