Yoga for men
Certified Kripalu Yoga instructor Nancy Nicholson will lead this six-week series 5:30 -6:45 p.m. Tuesdays, Sept. 17-Oct. 15 at First Christian Church, 1200 East Blvd. Great for a golf swing, this series is gentle but not wimpy, and for men who want more flexibility, strengthening, improved balance and less stress. This walk will culminate The American Heart Association’s “My Heart My Life” fundraising campaign and the proposed goal of $1.75 million. The Heart Walk, which focuses on health and wellness programs for community, family and workplace, begins at 7:30 a.m. in uptown Charlotte with a health expo; kids’ zone; heart and stroke survivor recognition and noncompetitive 3-mile walk from the intersection of Trade and Tryon Streets. The 13th annual Links for Lupus golf tournament was held Aug. 26 at Cedarwood Country Club and raised more than $45,000 to benefit the Lupus Foundation of America North Carolina Chapter. The tournament has brought in $418,000 since its inception. Details: lupuslinks.dojiggy.com.
