Baptist churches to present ‘Carolinas God Bless America Crusade’

Nearly 60 independent Baptist churches in North Carolina and South Carolina are partnering with Virginia-based evangelist Byron Foxx to present the “Carolinas God Bless America Crusade.”

This free, family-oriented event will be held over three nights – Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, starting 7 p.m. each day – at Bojangles’ Coliseum, 2700 E. Independence Blvd.

Kicking off on the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, Wednesday night's program will salute first responders. The crusade will honor educators on Thursday night and the U.S. military on Friday night.

Organizers are promising a 500-voice choir, patriotic music and some preaching of the Christian Gospel.

Volunteers have knocked on 300,000 doors in and around Charlotte in the last few weeks, organizers say, to spread the word about the crusade.
