Mayberry Days will be Goober-ific

Mayberry Days, Mount Airy’s annual celebration of native son Andy Griffith (and his legendary TV show) will be Sept. 26-29 at various places around town. There will be guest appearances from actors on the show and a bluegrass concert honoring musician Doug Dillard, who played one of the “Darling Boys” on several episodes. A major event is the Saturday (Sept. 28) Mayberry Days parade. Also, there will be a presentation of a jumpsuit worn on the show by Goober (actor George Lindsey), who worked at Wally’s Service Station. Details: www.mayberrydays.org.
