CALHOUN COUNTY A York County woman on her way to a wedding died Saturday morning in a crash that threw her and two others from a car in Calhoun County.

Sara Ann Comer, 21, of Hickory Grove, died from internal injuries she suffered during the crash, said Calhoun County Coroner Donnie Porth.

At about 3:15 a.m., a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck carrying three passengers and travelling south veered off Maybrick Creek Road, said Sgt. Bob Beres with the state Highway Patrol.

The truck ran off the right side of the road before the driver over-corrected, Beres said. The car went to the left and then went back to the right as it struck several trees and eventually overturned.

Comer and two others, Barry Quattlebaum, 26, and Kelly Howell, 22, were all ejected from the truck, Beres said. Qauttlebaum was taken to Palmetto Richland Hospital, while Howell was taken to Lexington Medical Center.

The trio were scheduled to go to a wedding on Saturday, but stopped in Calhoun County to visit a friend, Porth said. None of them were wearing seat belts.
