1 held, 1 sought in Salisbury shooting death

A 22-year-old man faces murder charges and another man is being sought by police in connection with a fatal shooting Monday afternoon about two blocks from the Livingstone College campus in Salisbury.

Salisbury police say Abraham Iman Jenkins, 19, was shot to death about 2:45 p.m. near Institute and West Horah streets. Andre Rynell Bognuda, 22, was taken into custody later and charged with murder.

Police say he had been arrested on charges of obstructing and delaying an officer during a traffic stop on Knox Street. Officers then took him into custody for the shooting of Jenkins.

Investigators say they are seeking a second suspect, described as a black male, in his late teens to early 20s, with dark skin and short dreads.

The shooting caused Livingstone College to go on lockdown for about two hours. But school officials say the violence had no connection to the school, and the lockdown was lifted after the arrest.
