Package causes stir at Bank of America building

Police and fire personnel were called to the Bank of America building at 100 North Tryon Street shortly before noon Tuesday after the discovery of what was described as a suspicious package.

Charlotte fire investigators checked the package and determined that “everything appeared to be normal,” according to a police spokesman.

The spokesman said two people were taken to local hospitals as a precaution. There is no word as to what type of medical problems they experienced.

Police say the case remains under investigation.
