A Charlotte woman has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the fatal overdose of her 9-month-old grandson.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police investigators charged Charlene Workman, 48, on Tuesday. Her arrest followed a medical examiners report that indicated Workmans grandson, Kaleb Lowery, died July 22 from an overdose of two drugs.
The infant was found in a home on the 9500 block of Lina Ardrey Lane, then transported to CMC-Pineville, where he was pronounced dead.
Workman remained in custody Tuesday night at the Mecklenburg County Jail.
