Marvin Ridge alumnus Jordan Day was named the Big South Conference’s Special Teams Player of the Week Sept. 16.The Gardner-Webb senior kicker and punter scored all 12 of the team’s points in its 12-10 win over nationally-ranked Richmond Sept. 14. He also tied the Big South single-game record with four field goals. He connected from 39, 37, 29 and 30 yards. The final kick was the game-winner with 25 seconds left. He also punted six times with a 40.3 yard average. Day is a former soccer player at Gardner-Webb who joined the football program in the spring. Corey Inscoe
