1. Bo knows foot-in-mouth: Its a reality of life in a high-profile job: There are things you just cant say. And if youre the coach at Nebraska, you cant fire back at Tommie Frazier and you really cant rip the most loyal fan base in college football.
Bo Pelini and Nebraska need to go their separate ways. It has been a bad marriage for a while.
Sources insist that Pelini tried to get the Penn State and Ohio State jobs. Last offseason, he went after Tennessee and Arkansas.
Pelini said Tuesday that if he did not enjoy coaching at Nebraska, he would have departed: Ive had opportunities to leave. I enjoy it here and my family enjoys it here. I have never pursued a job. Ive had people pursue me.
That contrasts to what many insiders assert. The Cornhuskers should bite the bullet and make it mutual.
This is a perfect time to make a change: Nebraskas next six weeks go like this: South Dakota State. Off. Illinois. At Purdue. Off. At Minnesota. My sister could go at least 3-1 coaching the team.
2. Turtle power: David Cutcliffe jokes aside, there is only one 3-0 team in the ACC: Maryland. The Terps are 3-0 for the first time since 2001 and can match last seasons win total with a victory over West Virginia.
The players believe in themselves, they believe in the all the things that were doing, coach Randy Edsall said. Its a good confidence we have; its not one thats overinflated because theyre mature enough to see that we still havent even come close to playing our best game.
The last time Maryland started 3-0, it won the ACC title. No one is predicting that in their farewell, but beating West Virginia would help prove they are bowl worthy.

Florida defensive tackle Dominique Easley on why he occasionally sings along when Rocky Top is played. Helps that the Gators usually are in a good mood. Theyve beaten Tennessee eight consecutive times.
