Raleigh accessories designer Holly Aiken has contracted Banjo Fever, creating a new line of bluegrass-influenced bags, wallets, clutches and wristlets.

In honor of this weekend’s Wide Open Bluegrass Festival in downtown Raleigh, Raleigh accessories designer Holly Aiken has created a new line of bluegrass-influenced bags, wallets, clutches and wristlets. Featuring a banjo design in Aiken’s signature colorful vinyl, the bags will be available at the festival and in Aiken’s Stitch store on the corner of Wilmington and Hargett streets.

Cancer fundraiser at Dress

Dress celebrates its second year at its Ridgewood Shopping Center location with a Fashion Fighting Cancer Fundraiser 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday. The event features two trunk shows – jeans from Articles of Society and jewelry from Sweetie Pie Jewelry. Proceeds from the first $500 of denim sold will be donated to Earlier.org, which works to discover biological tests to detect breast cancer earlier to increase survival. Gem Chat

Joint Venture Jewelry in Cary offers its Gem Chat informational series this week. Topics include “Famous Women Jewelers” on Thursday at 5 p.m., “Periods and Styles” on Fridayat 5 p.m. and “Love and Jewelry” on Saturday at 11 a.m. The chats are free, and wine will be served on Friday and Saturday with mimosas on Saturday. ‘Secrets of Style’

Dancing into fashion

Who better to model some of the season’s hottest shoes than ballerinas? That’s the idea behind the Rangoni Fall Fashion Show on Saturday at the Rangoni shoe store in Cameron Village. Dancers from the Carolina Ballet will model fall styles from Rangoni Firenze Shoes and Amalfi by Rangoni. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Attendees will be able to meet the dancers after the show. During the event, 15 percent of sales will be donated to Carolina Ballet, Inc. This week in trunks

The fall trunk show season carries on this week with a variety of events. Here’s a sampling:

• Certain Things in Cameron Village will have the latest jeans for fall from Beija-Flor Thursday through Saturday. The collection includes the label’s new, eco-friendly colored jeans made with Repreve, a recycled fiber made in North Carolina using plastic bottles. Beija-Flor designer Kathy Moça will be in-store for personal fit consultations on Thursday, and shoppers will get the chance to win a free pair of Beija-Flor jeans with any denim purchase.
