Clover, Hickory Grove, McConnells, Sharon and Smyrna will not hold fall elections because the positions are uncontested.
In all five municipalities, the same number of candidates filed to run as the number of available council seats. Clover had six available seats while Hickory Grove, McConnells, Sharon and Smyrna had four seats each. The mayors seat was open in each of these municipalities, as well, but only one candidate filed.
Other York County elections will be held Nov. 5. There are races for Fort Mill Council Ward 3, Tega Cay Mayor and two council seats, and York council Districts 1 and 6.
In Rock Hill, the only contested race is for the Ward 5 city council seat. Three candidates are in that race. Two other council seats and the mayors seat are up for election, but the candidates are unopposed.
The polls open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. Voters will need to be registered and have a voter ID. In Rock Hill, the deadline to register to vote has passed, but voters in Fort Mill, Tega Cay and York have until Friday to register.
