Since the current comprehensive parks and greenways master plan is almost 10 years old and out of date, the Cornelius PARC Department wants to update it.Not only will a new plan meet the needs of the growing population of Cornelius, but it should help the town decide what would be best for parks and greenways over the next several years. As their capstone project for the fall semester, the faculty and students of the UNC Charlotte master of public administration degree program chose to help the town with the project.Residents of Cornelius will have two community workshops to give suggestions as to what we think are the needs for parks and greenways. Meetings will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 8 and 10 at Cornelius Town Hall. For information, call 704-892-6031 ext. 160 or visit www.cornelius.org/parc.
