In recognition of National Depression Screening Day on Oct. 10, Pfeiffer Institute for Marriage and Family Therapy will offer free depression screenings and free first sessions though Saturday this week. The Ivey, a memory-care day center, will host “Staying Sharp with Mild Memory Loss” 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at The Ivey, 6030 Park South Drive. This free, interactive workshop will be led by Vicki Parker – founder and director of The Brain Trainer in Charlotte – and will focus on how mild dementia affects the brain and the games and activities that can keep the brain stimulated. Lake Norman Leukemia Cup Regatta

Epilepsy Support Group
Charlotte Epilepsy Support Group’s monthly meeting will be 7-8:45 p.m. Oct. 15 in Classrooms A and B in the sixth floor NeuroScience Department of Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center, 200 Hawthorne Lane.
