The winner: This summer, some neighbor children decided my clothesline was a jungle gym. Due to the wet ground, one pole then leaned at a 45-degree angle. I was trying to figure how to pull it upright, but my boyfriend had a better idea: He created a wooden wedge and pounded it into the ground in front of the lean, to push it upright. It's still working great!

(Postscript: Ms. Harness has now posted a “No Trespassing” sign on the clothesline pole.)
