Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report making seven driving-while-impaired arrests at a northwest Charlotte checkpoint late Thursday and early Friday.
Police also cited 29 motorists with driving with revoked or no driver’s licenses.
The checkpoint was in the 6100 block of Brookshire Boulevard, near the Department of Motor Vehicles office. That is between Oakdale Road and Fred Alexander Boulevard.
The checkpoint was conducted from 11 p.m. Thursday until 3 a.m. Friday. Assisting CMPD were officers from the Pineville and Matthews police departments and from Mecklenburg County ABC Law Enforcement.

Driving with license revoked: 11
No operator’s license: 18
Open container law violation: 4
Underage possession of alcohol: 2
Other traffic charges: 25
Drug charges: 6
Possession of a stolen firearm: 1
