Cannon School’s girls’ golf team took a step toward another state championship, winning its second straight Charlotte Independent Schools Athletic Association conference title Oct. 7.The Cougars – the two-time and defending N.C. Independent Schools Athletic Association state champs – beat runner-up Providence Day by 43 shots (219-252) on the 18-hole course at the Charlotte Country Club.Cannon School junior Anna Redding took individual medalist honors, shooting a 1-under 71, while sisters Annie and Kate Collom, both from Davidson, had 2-over 74s.The Cougars now turn their attention to trying to win their third straight NCISAA state championship Oct. 21 at Pine Needles in Pinehurst.
