Police investigate shooting on North Tryon Street

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a shooting Monday morning in north Charlotte.

The shooting was reported about 6:30 a.m. in the 5100 block of North Tryon Street. That is near Lambeth Drive, a short distance south of Eastway Drive.

According to police reports, one person was taken by Medic to Carolinas Medical Center. There is no word on the condition of the victim.

At 7:45 a.m., police detectives were scouring a small shopping center on North Tryon Street. Authorities seemed to be focusing their attention on a gas station in the retail center.
