The winner: Mostly used tubes of toothpaste, skin cream, etc. can be completely used by cutting off part of the lower tube and sealing the remaining contents by folding a flap and securing with a spring-type clip. Simply scrape the amount of toothpaste needed with a toothbrush and re-seal. Use any type of small scraper, such as a Popsicle stick, for other contents.

Classic tomato paste move
I use small amounts of tomato paste in some of my favorite recipes. So whenever I buy a can, I freeze in portions of 1 to 2 tablespoons on a cookie sheet. After they are frozen I put them in a baggie and use them as needed. CLAIRE HUDAK, CHARLOTTE
Save that parsley
When I buy parsley and can’t use it all, I put the leftovers in a glass and let it dry in the refrigerator until brittle, then stir the dried leaves, remove the stems. That gives me dried parsley for other uses.
