LYNCHBURG, Va. Alex Catron kicked a 35-yard field goal in the second overtime to give undefeated Coastal Carolina a come-from-behind 55-52 victory.
The teams traded rushing touchdowns in the first overtime before Catrons winning kick. Coastal Carolina (7-0, 2-0 Big South) blocked a 40-yard field goal attempt.
Liberty (3-4, 0-1) led by as much as 19 in the third quarter before the Chanticleers roared back to tie at 45 with 46 seconds remaining.
Jacksonville 52, Campbell 45: Kade Bell threw four TD passes for visiting Jacksonville.
Delaware State 12, N.C. A&T 7: Lamar Shaw scored from a yard out and Mitchell Ward kicked two field goals for visiting Delaware State in Greensboro.
The Hornets (3-4, 3-1) remained in the thick of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference race while the Aggies (3-3, 1-3) dropped their third straight.
Chattanooga 20, Elon 9: Keon Williams rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns for visiting Chattanooga (5-2, 3-1). Elon is 2-6, 1-3.
Morgan St 34, N.C. Central 22: Seth Higgins tossed a touchdown pass and ran for another for visiting Morgan State (2-5, 2-1 MEAC) in Durham. The Eagles fell to 3-4, 1-2.
Presbyterian 49, VMI 35: Tobi Antigha caught two touchdowns and rushed for another to blunt a late game VMI rally and help Presbyterian (2-4, 1-0) win its Big South opener in Clinton, S.C.
Colorado 43, Charleston Southern 10: Michael Adkins ran for four touchdowns for the Buffaloes (3-3) in Boulder, Colo.
The Buccaneers (7-1) of the Big South got a $400,000 paycheck plus travel expenses to fill in for Colorado after an earlier game was canceled because of the floods last month.
Wofford 21, Western Carolina 17: Michael Weimer rushed for 132 yards and Wofford (5-2, 4-0 Southern) got a late goal-line stand in Cullowhee, N.C.
Tony Mitchell ran for one score and passed for another to give Western Carolina (1-7, 0-4) a 17-7 halftime lead.
Lenoir-Rhyne 35, Newberry 14: The host Bears (6-1, 4-0) took over first place in the South Atlantic after Isaiah Whitaker (Salisbury) rushed for 163 yards and scored three touchdowns.
Wingate 43, Brevard 24: Senior quarterback Robbie Nallenweg completed 24-of-28 passes for 273 yards and four touchdowns for the host Bulldogs (3-3, 2-2 SAC).
Shaw 45, Livingstone 21: Quinshon Odom threw for three touchdowns and ran for another for the host Bears (4-3, 2-2 CIAA). Livingstone fell to 2-5, 1-3. News Services
