Originally from England, Sarah Ryberg has lived in Charlotte for the last 12 years and is a graduate of UNC Charlotte. After two whirlwind weddings - one in Charlotte and another in her homeland - Sarah is settling into married life and learning what it takes to be a Mrs. You can reach Sarah at sarahmryberg@yahoo.com

While I can tell you something I love about every Disney movie, my absolute favorite film is Tangled. I love the romantic storyline, the quick witted Flynn Rider, the creative and adventurous Rapunzel, and the incredible imagery. I mean, who doesn't appreciate the romance of that gorgeous lantern scene?

With all this gushing, it's no surprise that I would choose Tangled for my next Disney inspiration post. From the purple, pink, and gold color palette, to the glow of the lantern scene, there is so much to pull from. Even if you're not a Disney fanatic like me, you're bound to find inspiration from the romantic details in Tangled.

Located in Winston-Salem, Graylyn isn't far from Charlotte and provides an ideal backdrop for a Tangled inspired wedding. Not only can you say your vows in a romantic garden setting, but the turret looks like a miniature version of Rapunzel's tower. You'll feel like you've stepped into the forest enclosure where her tower is hidden.

The gown

This floral inspired ball gown, from the Martina Liana collection, is the perfect nod to Rapunzel. The floral embellishments remind me of the flowers in her hair, whereas the fun, romantic flow of the dress captures her bubbly and feminine personality.

The reception

The space pictured above was photographed by Garrett Frandsen with floral arrangements provided by Lily Greenthumb's. The variations of purple, along with the hints of gold, resemble the color palette used in the movie. The floral arrangements also capture the soft, feminine side of Rapunzel perfectly, while the height offers a gentle nod to her tower. Finally, just like the lantern scene, the uplighting and candlelight casts a romantic glow over the room.

I love this elegant cake designed by The Wow Factor Cakes. Not only does this design tie in the gold from the film's color palette, but the floral embellishment offers a stylish twist on the golden flower.

The grand exit

Releasing lanterns would make the perfect grand finale for your wedding. Check with your venue to make sure a lantern release is allowed and consider giving one lantern to every family. Then, release them at the end of the night for a beautiful photo op.
