Iredell County sheriff’s investigators are requesting the public’s help in finding an Iredell County man charged with habitual misdemeanor assault, a felony.
On Oct. 10, deputies responded to a home in the 100 block of Julia Lane in Statesville on a domestic assault call.
Steven Dale Sexton, 40, was arrested and charged with assault on a female, communicating threats and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
Sexton was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, posted the $1,500 bond and was released.
Detective Sgt. Sean Schutt of the Special Victims Unit later met with the victim and witnesses, ran a criminal history on Sexton and discovered that he had been convicted of two assault on a female charges.
Schutt then charged Sexton with habitual misdemeanor assault, but authorities haven’t found him.
