The winner: I remove the screen/glass from my storm door when preparing for trick-or-treaters. That way I don’t have to swing the door out on top of them. I can just give them their treats through the opening.

Best pumpkin seeds ever

If you like to roast the pumpkin seeds scooped out from the jack o’ lantern you carve this weekend, give the following recipe a try. What makes it clever is the delicious simplicity. The recipe comes from Cookbook I, the Junior League of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Take 2 cups unwashed pumpkin seeds, 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 11/2 tablespoons butter, melted, 11/4 teaspoons salt. Mix ingredients, place in a large shallow pan. Bake 2 hours at 250 degrees, stirring occasionally.
