Runners raise $3K for Lake Wylie charity

LAKE WYLIE Anytime Fitness hosted its second annual Super Hero 5K on Oct. 12 for the Lake Wylie Children's Charity.

“We had over 100 participants and over 50 volunteers,” said Amy Rose of Anytime Fitness. She said about 30 of the volunteers were from Clover High School, including Air Force JROTC cadets.

Rose said Anytime Fitness members and local businesses donated water, muffins, bananas, bagels, cones and barrels, signs, water cups and gift certificates for prizes. Each participant received a goodie bag.

The 5K male and overall winner was Gilberto Spenser. Female winner was Jennifer Goad.
