A Lenoir man was arrested and charged Friday in the theft of a man’s “dream car” -- a 1968 Mustang taken from the victim’s garage on Collettsville Road on Thursday night.
Caldwell County sheriff’s investigators charged Paul Thomas Marsh Jr. with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Marsh was in the Caldwell County Detention Center under $25,000 in secured bonds. His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday in Caldwell County District Court in Lenoir.
Sheriff Alan Jones said early leads in the case led sheriff’s deputies to woods behind Marsh’s home, also on Collettsville Road. That’s where deputies found the $40,000 car just after midnight, about 18 hours from when the car was reported stolen, Jones said.
Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call sheriff’s detectives at 828-759-1554. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 828-758-8300.
