LENOIR Police arrested and charged a man and a woman with numerous offenses after executing a search warrant on a home on Rankin Street and finding high-grade marijuana, assorted prescription pills and digital scales.
Police Chief R. Scott Brown said the three-month investigation directly resulted from community complaints.
Police charged Chance Javonet Horton, 20, with one count each of felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling for use, storage or sale of controlled substances, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer.
Letitia Yvonne Ferguson, 39, was charged with misdemeanor assault on a government official and misdemeanor resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer.
Horton was in the Caldwell County Detention Center on Friday under a $102,500 bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for Monday.
Ferguson was given a $2,500 bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 10.
