1 shot inside Gastonia residence

GASTONIA Police are investigating a home invasion and shooting which left one man injured early Thursday.

The shooting was reported about 2 a.m. at a duplex on North Weldon Street, police say. That is off West Davidson Avenue in northwest Gastonia.

According to police, someone broke into a home and shot a resident inside. The victim was taken to the hospital in Gastonia. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

No description of the suspect or possible motive have been released by police.
