Bill Fehr of Charlotte says about “Sun on Firebird”: “I was walking around Niki de Saint Phalle’s wonderful mirrored piece in the winter when in a fraction of a second and one degree, the reflection of the sun some 94 million miles distant caught my eye. The center of our solar system is seen in her work.”

Congrats to Aaron Ligon of Charlotte, whose photo “Perspective” won the 2013 edition of our usually annual “Firebird” photo contest. Ligon gets a $25 gift card, four passes to the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, a “Firebird” T-shirt and puzzle and a Bechtler tote bag.

Runners-up Eric Bowden of Charlotte, Joan Colton of Conover and Bill Fehr of Charlotte each get a “Firebird” T-shirt and puzzle.

The four winning images will hang in the Bechtler café.

Thanks for playing, everyone.
