Elijah Hood, Charlotte Catholic: 351 yards rushing on 19 carries against Ardrey Kell was the fifth-best rushing performance in Mecklenburg County history. Hood’s six rushing touchdowns tied the county record.
Dominique Heath, Hopewell: 137 yards total offense and three touchdowns in 33-7 win against Vance. Heath had three catches for 71 yard and two scores. He ran for 66 yards and another touchdown.
Travis Ramseur, Statesville: Sophomore QB completed 12-of-16 passes for 356 yards, the second-highest total in school history – 20 yards short of his own record. Ramseur led his team to a 42-20 win against North Lincoln.
Tyler Cochran, Marvin Ridge: Kicked three field goals in 15-7 win against Marvin Ridge.
Jake Massey, Lake Norman Charter: Massey’s team lost 42-0 to Gastonia Ashbrook on Friday night, but Massey had a big game. Earlier Friday, he received a nomination for the U.S. Army national combine for the nation’s top juniors, then he had 10 tackles against Ashbrook, blocked a field goal attempt, caused a fumble and recovered two more fumbles.
Chazz Surratt, East Lincoln: Sophomore QB ran for 128 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-0 win against previously unbeaten Maiden. He threw for 137 yards and another score.
Cole Bloomer, Charlotte Country Day: Scored game-winning touchdown with 2 minutes, 5 seconds left in his team’s 24-21 win against Charlotte Latin. Bloomer completed 16-of-22 passes for 200 yards and a touchdown. He had two rushing touchdowns.
