Between grand openings and anniversary parties, there’s plenty to celebrate in Charlotte this weekend. So in with the new, and cheers to the old.

Friday

Nan and Byron’s late night grand opening (1714 South Blvd.): The creators of 5 Church bring this new gem to South End with a restaurant/bar-warming celebration Friday and Saturday. With music by DJ J. Overcash. 11 p.m.-2 a.m. No cover, valet and free parking on-site. 980-224-7492.

Kennedy’s three-year anniversary party (366 Caswell Road): They’re celebrating three years of contributions to the Elizabeth nightlife scene with $3 you-call-it drinks. No cover, anytime. 704-375-0218.

NoDa Fall Musicfest at The Chop Shop (399 E. 35th St.): A weekend-long music festival with more than 60 acts in various genres. Starts at 7 p.m. Friday and doesn’t end until Sunday. $5 per day online, $10 at the door. www.nodamusic.com.

Elevate Lifestyle’s 10 year anniversary party at Bubble (210 E. Trade St.): Celebrate a decade of fun and fashion with ... what else? Lots of fun, in addition to a fashion show. 9-11 p.m. www.elevatelifestyle.com.

Young Affiliates of the Mint Inaugural Fall Ball at the Mint Museum Uptown (500 S. Tryon St.): A Jazz era-inspired party to kick off the holiday event season, with 1920s-inspired fare and Prohibition-era cocktails, live music by Charlotte band Cookie, silent auction and a tour of the galleries. 7-11 p.m., with the official after-party at Bubble. $75 for members, $95 for nonmembers. www.FallBallCharlotte.com.

Saturday

The Carolina Cutie Pies’ red carpet premiere for “Bad Grandpa” at Studio Movie Grill at the EpiCentre (210 E. Trade St.): Since the blockbuster was filmed in Charlotte, they’re having a local screening with people who appeared in the film, including kids from the famous pageant scene. The event starts at 7 p.m., with the screening at 9:15 p.m. Free party, but movie tickets are regularly priced. 980-229-1374.

Mingleberry’s six-year anniversary celebration at the new Vanity uptown (500 W. Fifth St.): The social site Mingleberry is celebrating six years of partying, with a party. Doors open at 10 p.m. $10. 704-890-7436; www.mingleberry.com.

Sunday

Old School Skate Party at Kate’s Roller Rink (14500 Independence Blvd.): The finale to No Limit Larry’s celebrity charity birthday weekend. 9 p.m.-1 a.m. $10. 980-224-3292.
