Developers planning 5-story hotel in Dilworth

Developers are planning to build a five-story hotel with a rooftop restaurant in Dilworth, according to a rezoning petition filed with the city.

The rezoning application, filed in late October, requests permission for a 127-room hotel to be built on 1.28 acres at East Worthington and Cleveland avenues.

The hotel would have a restaurant and bar on the sixth floor with a skyline view terrace. The petition, which doesn’t specify what brand name the hotel would carry, also requests permission to build up to six “family dwelling units” on the property.

The property is owned by a limited liability corporation called Bailey Family of Mecklenburg County Alpha. Ben Cassarino, president of the Catellus Group, a Charlotte commercial real estate development firm, filed the petition.
