Panthers’ Quintin Mikell fined $7,875 for hit on Colin Kaepernick

Carolina Panthers strong safety Quintin Mikell was fined $7,875 for his late hit on San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick in the third quarter of the Panthers’ 10-9 win last week.

Mikell was penalized for unnecessary roughness on the play.

“(Stuff) happens,” Mikell said. “I’ll appeal it, then we’ll go from there and see how it goes.”
