Highly-touted quarterback Will Grier of Davidson Day has been selected to take part in the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl, an annual all-star football game featuring some of the nation’s top high school seniors.Grier, who has committed to play at Florida next season, was presented his game jersey during a special awards ceremony at the school on Nov. 18.The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder led the Patriots to the NCISAA 2A state title last season while throwing for 5,785 yards and 69 touchdowns. This season, Grier is leading the nation in touchdown passes with 62 and is seventh in passing yards with 3,892. He has also rushed for 1,135 yards and 11 TDs.Grier is one of four players from Mecklenburg County chosen for the All-American Bowl, which will be played at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 4. The others are Charlotte Catholic running back Elijah Hood, Providence offensive lineman Bentley Spain and Ardrey Kell punter Corbin Daly. Bill Kiser
