The winner: My grandson is the clever one here. I came home one day and found this hanging over my very limited counter space for baking or cooking: This plastic pants hanger holds a recipe or small cookbook for viewing while using the counter for prepping.

Spice container makes nifty toothpick holder
We used to have toothpicks all over the console in the cars; but none after repurposing spice shaker jars. The cinnamon jars are especially suited in that they add a nice flavor and aroma. We now have one in each of the cars and in the sun room where we often eat. Jim Dean, Matthews
Keep clothing shades straight
All navys and blacks are not the same shades. And many people have two sets of sweat suits of the same color. Take a permanent marker and draw a circle or square around the brand name on the label of the matching shirts and pants. Squares for one shade, circles for another, etc. You get the idea.
