GOODNEWS the Shop at Christ Church Charlotte

Duke Mansion

Shop around the tree, then sit down for some tea at the Duke Mansion’s Southern Afternoon Tea on Dec. 8. The annual event offers a sprinkling of shops, set up with holiday merchandise for perusing at 2 p.m. At 3 p.m., sit down to fine tea selections, sweets, scones, sandwiches and more. Cost is $35 for adults and $15 for children ages 5 - 12. Register by Dec. 3.

Hops and Shops at Triple C

Holiday celebrations continue at SouthPark. Kidgits Club members can have cookies with Mrs. Claus 2-4 p.m. Dec. 7, complete with a holiday photo. The Charlotte City Ballet will perform 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Dec. 14 in the Neiman Marcus Wing; on the same day, members of the First Baptist Church of Fort Mill will perform holiday handbell music in Circle Court. And volunteers from Orphans to Ambassadors and Girl Scouts will wrap your presents; proceeds go to charities.

Small Hands Big Art

Create and celebrate at the same time at one of the many holiday workshops at the art studio in The Fountains. Kids can create unique holiday cards at the drop-off workshop 4 - 5:30 p.m. Dec. 7; the Reindeer Workshop (two sessions on Dec. 14) offers a chance to make a 3D whimsical sculpture that will be sure to spread yuletide cheer. Adult workshops include Hand-Carved Holiday Stamp Making, 7 - 9 p.m. Dec. 17 and Hand-Stitched Ornaments 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. on Dec. 19.
