Several local players named to NCSCA all-state and all-region teams

Charlotte Latin’s Nick Gardner is one of several area players named to the NCSCA All-Region team.

The N.C. Soccer Coaches Association recently released its boys’ soccer all-state and all-region teams.

Area selections to the all-region team are:

Ardrey Kell: Daniel Curulla, Emilo Ferraro, Carter Glade, Cameron Reinhardt and Zhuvonte Wilson.

Butler: Michael Sam and Josh Sorenson.

Charlotte Catholic: Matt Lauder, Spain Niemer, Alec Ostendarp, Ben Stockley and Desmond Toal.

Charlotte Country Day: Ben Locke and Axel Rydburg.

Charlotte Latin: Nick Gardner.

Myers Park: Juan Gerrero and Trevor Lipps.

Providence High: Connor Kirby, Quincy Kroeschell, Matthew Nozedar, Evan Pournaras, Andrew Zendan and Michael Zendan.

South Mecklenburg: Milton Espinoza, Sean Grune and Axel Rojas.

Charlotte Latin’s Nick Gardner, Country Day’s Ben Locke, Ardrey Kell’s Zhuvonte Wilson Butler’s Josh Sorenson, South Mecklenburg’s Axel Rojas and Providence High’s Connor Kirby and Matthew Nozedar were also named to the NCSCA all-state team.
