Parsonses fail to regain children's custody

Staff Reports

A Salisbury judge ruled that Sandy and Casey Parsons, whose adoptive daughter Erica was reported missing in July, will not regain custody of their two minor children until at least January, according to WCNC.

The Parsonses will have another hearing in juvenile court next year.

The two minors were removed from the Parsonses' home after Erica's reported disappearance.

Erica was 11 when she was last seen in late 2011. Sandy and Casey Parsons told detectives that they took the girl to live with a biological grandmother in Asheville. They now say they believe they were duped, and the woman they left Erica with was not her grandmother.
